Like New: Card Care Tips
over 5 years ago – Fri, Aug 24, 2018 at 07:14:02 PM

Now that most you all have gotten the product in and physical matches are at hand, EPF would like to put of a friendly PSA about proper card maintenance.

If you want to make sure you prolong the quality and enjoyment of your own products we recommend you take serious care protecting your cards. While good card play habits can help protect the product like making sure you play on soft forgiving surfaces like playmats, we think the most important and first priority is to sleeve your cards.

I've been testing out a few different sleeves and my go to combo with these cards is to at LEAST perfect fit sleeve your cards first, and if you can, double sleeving.

For inner sleeves we recommend KSI Perfect Fit, and for outer sleeving we recommend Matte Back Dragonshield.

I would also highly recommend looking at Tolarian Community College's "What are the Best Card Sleeves for Magic" Youtube Playlist. They have spent years reviewing quality card game products and know what they are talking about when it comes to card product.

Important Arrival Notes!
over 5 years ago – Thu, Aug 23, 2018 at 06:48:04 PM

All games are on the way!   Tracking numbers are in your e-mail.

A couple important notes on unboxing and caring for your game:

1) Don't throw away your packaging!

...At least not right away.  Original art in cardboard-colored folders, sneaky expansion decks lurking within bubble wrap- check to ensure your rewards are all there before discarding packaging.

2) Hashtag Not All.

All games are en route- but the hardcover Art book / Strategy Guide, Lenticular hero cards, and some other high-level rewards are still in production.  I didn't want to delay all the games just for the slowest item, so I decided to mail everything I could right now in "Wave 1."   Wave 2 shipments will come later.

3) Use Protection

Skirmish uses durable black-core high quality cards- but to keep them looking like new, you will want to use protection.  Shuffling and normal use will cause normal wear over time, especially to the special foil and gilding effects.  Use plastic card sleeves to keep your first edition Skirmish cards pristine- the EPF developers have some specific recommendations on sleeving and card care in an upcoming post.

4) Get It Right!

Don't learn to play wrong- when in doubt, hit the Skirmish Discord for clarification on rules:  https://discordapp.com/invite/wKqFEx2  Especially if we formulate any tournaments or competitive events, having all players on the same page will be helpful.  I think one card, Indigo, has a misprint regarding "Cannot attack" that is supposed to say "Cannot flank attack," for example.  (We'll print a replacement for that one in any future expansion deck print runs.)

The Discord server may soon offer some additional ways to play Skirmish, so it's worth checking in there.

Any gameplay questions:  Hit the Discord!   If any products arrive with manufacturing defects:  Message me here, and I'll get you taken care of!

Thanks again for backing us, I hope everyone has a blast playing.  E )

Gameplay Questions?
over 5 years ago – Fri, Aug 10, 2018 at 08:37:19 PM

With games arriving everywhere, play has begun!

It can be quite a learning curve for new players- which is nearly everybody- so you'll probably have questions.   Take heart:

https://discord.gg/wKqFEx2

Connect with the gamedevs and veteran playtesters on the Skirmish Discord to tackle questions.  Over time we can develop an FAQ that can help guide future players.

As this is the first public release of the game, any feedback you can share with the gamedevs can help hone their efforts to polish and calibrate future expansions and other Skirmish features.

I've also heard rumors of interest in a tournament or gameplay competition of some kind.   We have one of the EPF devs visiting us this next week to sign Collector's Editions, so I'll collaborate with them to see how that might be arranged.

After the Collector's Editions have been signed by both EPF devs I can get those all mailed, and Wave 1 will be complete!

Unboxing Contest
over 5 years ago – Mon, Aug 06, 2018 at 04:43:22 PM

Skirmish games are coming- and we're hosting an unboxing contest.

One winner will get a Teepublic t-shirt featuring a Skirmish character of their choice- a one-of-a-kind shirt.

To enter, share a photo or video of your Skirmish unboxing on social media. We'll post an update here on Kickstarter titled 'ENTRIES,' and in the comments share a link to your post.

 And poof! You have entered.

Then we'll pick our favorite, and the winner will be in t-shirt utopia.

Videos will be judged on the first 30 seconds, and photos will be judged based on overall content, visual appeal, and fun-level.

What's the most fun way to unbox a new tabletop battle game? I'm not sure, but we're looking forward to finding out.

The 'ENTRIES' update will be posted after the last Wave-1 box is delivered- with international shipping, that means 3-4 weeks after we send the last box. You can post your unboxing photos and videos any time- just be sure to share the link with us when we make our ENTRIES post. And that's it!

Games are hitting the mail today, and we're already about halfway through packaging everything. Looking forward to seeing Skirmish arrive.

Golden Ticket contest
over 5 years ago – Sat, Aug 04, 2018 at 05:48:55 PM

Soon games will be arriving- but look carefully at your cards.  Because there's one unlike any other:

One backer with Wonka-level luck will get the Golden Mug card.  It's mixed in randomly among one of the expansion decks being delivered.

If you get this card, message or e-mail us the confirmation number on the back, and you shall win a prize!

A ceramic mug with custom metallic sharpie art, featuring a character of your choice.  Could be a Dreamkeeper, or an OC.   We'll doodle up a mug for you, and send it out.

Probably better than a tour of the factory- it's just a lot of boxes presently!   125 orders packaged just yesterday, whew!   We're rockin' 'em out.  8 )

Stay tuned- we're planning to announce an unboxing contest as well, open to anyone who wants to enter- details coming soon.
